Saturday, October 24, 7 pm.
The Performing Arts Center at 51 Walden, Concord.

The Concord Band presents our fall concert, entitled "Scenes" after the suite, Scenes from the Louvre, written for band by composer Norman Dello Joio. Dello Joio adapted his original score from a television documentary about the famous museum, depicting five classic artworks from the museum's collection. In keeping with this theme, Music Director James O'Dell also selected Modest Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition. The program also includes Of Sailors and Whales by W. Franci McBeth, inspired by Herman Melville's iconic novel, Moby Dick. The program also features Iditarod by Robert Buckley, evoking the epic adventure of the Alaskan dog sled race, and Ireland: Of Legend and Lore by Robert W. Smith. A multimedia presentation will accompany the music.

Admission is free with $20 donation requested. Light refreshments will be served at a reception after the concert.
